Training on development of state educational standards
Training on development of state educational standards for bachelor and master programmes on the base of competency approach and introduction of ECTS will be conducted in the Osh State University, Osh on 10-11 March 2012 within the support of the National Tempus Office in Kyrgyzstan.
The aim of this seminar is to facilitate transfer to the two-cycle higher education in accordance with the Government Degree N 496.
The training will be conducted by two higher education reformation experts: Adamkulova and Sirmbard.
Representatives of all universities from southern universities of Kyrgyzstan will participate. Also deputy minister of education and science Mr. Orozbekov will take part in the seminar.

We hereby inform that in the framework of the EC Information Project on Higher Education Reform III, HERE team will attend the seminar
"Putting Bucharest's conclusions on track - The experts' role", Vilnius, 4 - 6 June 2012.
Two experts Sirmbard Svetlana and Bekboeva Rahat will participate.
Questions about reform of higher education, quality assurance, recognition and transparency tools, and mobility reform of higher education will be discussed on the seminar.
Participants of the seminar must to come forward with proposals to share good practice and to promote peer learning. Open Space offers an opportunity for high-level expert discussion among colleagues

Seminar on quality assurance standards in the Framework of TEMPUS project DOQUP was conducted on 3 May 2012 in the conference hall of the Kyrgyz National University named after J.Balasagyn. Minister of Education and Science of KR Mr.Kanat Sadykov, Rector of KNU Prof. I.Isamidinov, advisor of minister Edilbek Moldoev, first vice-rector of KNU Ermek Usekeev, director of IIIEP Nikolai Bredihin, representatives of ministries of education of Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Tadjikistan, Kyrgyzstan, university of Duisburg – Essen (Germany), Slovak University of Technology in Bratislava (Slovakia), University Alicante (Spain) and other representatives from over then 20 partner universities from Central Asia and Europe participated in the event.

Round table "Higher Education: Problems and Prospects" was held on June 6, 2012 with joint organization of the Ministry of Education and Science and National Tempus Office in Kyrgyzstan. 35 representatives of higher educational institutions, chairpersons and members of methodological unions participated in the event.
On the round table following important issues have been discussed:
-Development of state educational standards of the third generation: challenges and prospects;
-A strategy for implementing e-learning: practical recommendations.
The round table was opened by welcoming speech of Mr. Sadykov Kanat, Minister of Education and Science of Kyrgyz Republic. He stressed the importance of the issues raised at the round table in the light of the Government Decrees № 472 and № 496.

National Tempus Office (NTO) in Kyrgyzstan is organizing Information Day of Tempus Programme in Kyrgyzstan on the threshold of the 6th Call for Proposals for all higher education institutions of Kyrgyzstan.
The aims of the event is to inform about TEMPUS Programme (goals and objectives of the programme), presentation of the 6th Call for Proposals (requirements and novelties), structure of application form and evaluation criteria’s of the project proposals. Also the second programme of European Commission Erasmus Mundus aimed to the implementation of academic mobility will be presented.
The keynote speaker of Information Day will be Ms. Alba-Chiara Tiberi, Advisor and Manager of Tempus Programme in Central Asia, representative of Education, Audiovisual and Culture Executive Agency (EACEA), European Commission, Brussels, Belgium.
Information day will be held with the support of Kyrgyz-Turkish Manas University, and on it basis on 12 November 2012, in Aitmatov Student Campus (microdistrict "Djal"), in the big conference hall named after K. Tynystanov.
Based on the above, we invite representatives of universities Kyrgyz Republic – 4 persons from each university to attend the meeting. All interested people are requested to register in advance by telephone 39 81 62 and 39 81 63 or by e-mail nto@tempus.kg
NTO does not cover costs of participants from the regions.
Also, representatives of the new Tempus projects (5th Call for Proposals), selected in 2012, and implementation of which began on 15 October, 2012 will meet with Ms. Alba Chiara Tiberi at 15:30 in the same building. Requirements for the implementation of contracts, reporting and other issues will be discussed during the meeting.

Bishkek (Akipress) - Number of universities in Kyrgyzstan is a critical indicator of what is needed to reduce the number of educational institutions, Kanat Sadykov the Minister of Education and Science, pointed in his speaking at the conference “Modernization of the awarding academic degrees and titles in higher education in the Kyrgyz Republic” on 4 December 2012.
Perspectives of transition to a PhD system, problems of modernization of awarding academic degrees in the Kyrgyz Republic were discussed during the conference. Participants of the Conference were academicians, rectors, and representatives of the Parliament of the Kyrgyz Republic.
As press service of the Parliament reported, the Minister Kanat Sadykov noted that the active phase of higher education began with the transition to two level of higher education: Bachelor's and master's degree. He noted that radical reform in field of education is needed, including field of higher education.
Number of universities in Kyrgyzstan is a critical indicator of what is needed to reduce the number of educational institutions, It is important to start paying attention to the quality of education, the quotations of our diplomas in the CIS and other countries, "- said the Minister.
