DESCRIPTION OF PROJECT: Firstly, the project foresees to prepare a survey of methodologies applied in the three partner countries (Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan) in order to assess the level of convergence in evaluation methods and procedures even if quality accreditation and assurance still varies in many respects. Parallely, there will be a creation of groups of experts on internal and external QA. It is fundamental at this stage to develop legislation, frameworks, criteria and methodology on internal and external QA systems taking into account taking into account internationally used models and national specifics. Centers for Quality Assurance and Accrediation will be established in three CA countries in order to operate as independent accreditation organizations and methodological-information centers on QA. The newly formed Centers will serve to assess the viability of common frame for CA external quality evaluation. One of the main project outputs will be creation of the Central Asian Network for Quality Assurance and Accreditation that will unite the Centers and other relevant organizations. The project provides systematic approach to the creation and development quality assurance on different levels, starting from universities, which implement internal QA (based on EFQM) and self-assessment procedure and ending independent Accreditation Centers, which introduce new criteria, guillines (orientated to ENQA) and system of external evaluation. Developing frameworks and content of quality assurance systems on the basis of the European experiences, CANQA will unite Central Asian countries and create CA network to recognize achievements and exchange best practices, to sustain implementation of QA and to promote Quality Culture.
